Kairat Shalabay is a Team Leader for CLIMADAPT, an EBRD project in Tajikistan established to promote investments in improved climate resilience technologies to help make the Tajik private sector more resilient to climate change.
Kairat serves as one of the leading consultants and trainers at the Frankfurt School since 2010 and is regularly engaged in implementation of assignments in Eastern Europe and Asia. Kairat has variety of projects in his portfolio of advisory mandates including: Local Enterprise Support Program – Jordan, German-Ukrainian Fund – Ukraine, KICB Bank – Kyrgyzstan, BystroBank – Russia, Financial sector development – Kazakhstan, InecoBank – Armenia, Commercial Lending Development – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Savings and Credit Associations – Moldova, Rabitabank – Azerbaijan and many others. Kairat has hands-on experience in commercial banking and in the Technical Assistance projects in development finance, including in the areas of Climate Change, Micro and SME finance, Women banking, Rural and Agricultural finance. Kairat studied Economics in Turkey and holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from Exeter University, UK and is also a FS Certified Expert in Risk Management and SME Finance. Kairat is fluent in English, Turkish, Russian and Kazakh.
